ChatGpt can now operate independently from your browser
Having previously enabled the ChatGPT extension to read, analyze, and summarize the content of open web pages, it now brings significantly more advanced capabilities. In a special working mode, artificial intelligence can now actively participate in online tasks, such as filling out registration forms for a doctor's visit or other online applications. Before final submission, the process is paused and the user is given the opportunity to review and confirm the entered data.
Users can now use special tags to address the browser or selected tab directly in the chat, without having to use the sidebar. New features include file transfers, messaging, managing open tabs, and automatically sorting web pages based on their content. The upgrade aims to reduce manual tasks and allow artificial intelligence to play a more active role in everyday web use.
The new feature is available for Chromium-based browsers, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. Support for Firefox and Safari is not yet planned. Despite the excitement over increasingly powerful automated assistants, experts warn that a certain amount of caution is needed when granting access to sensitive tasks.
Research shows that many users are still reluctant to trust artificial intelligence to manage important digital tasks. The extension is already available to all ChatGPT users, including those on the free plan.
