Windows 11 is getting a smarter Start menu and a better taskbar
Microsoft has released the October Preview Update KB5067036 for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. The update brings a redesigned Start menu with more customization and an improved user experience.
Users with the "Get the latest updates" option turned on may already receive the update, but the new menu is being rolled out gradually. If you skip the update, the new menu will be available with the next monthly update.
The redesigned menu lets you hide pinned apps and files and offers two new views: grid list and categories. The “all apps” list is now on the main page. The menu adapts to screen size, allowing you to see more apps on larger devices.
Also included is an improved Phone Link panel with notifications, calls, and messages. The update brings hover animations for app icons and a new battery icon with a percentage charge. We're sure you'll be more than excited about the new menu.
