YouTube TV is preparing one of the biggest changes since its launch. In early 2026, the Google-owned service will for the first time break up its classic cable bundle and offer more than 10 themed subscriptions. The goal is to give users more flexibility and control over what they watch and what they pay for.

Among the packages will be a sports package that will include major TV stations, FS1, NBC Sports Network, all ESPN channels, and ESPN Unlimited. There will also be add-ons like NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone. YouTube has also confirmed news, family, and entertainment packages, but the full list has not yet been revealed.

Subscribers will retain popular features like unlimited DVR, multi-view, keynotes, and fantasy viewing regardless of the package they choose. Currently, YouTube TV charges around €76 per month for the basic package with 100+ channels, and smaller packages will be cheaper, although exact prices are not yet known.

The move comes at a time when streaming services are facing subscriber fatigue due to constant price hikes. Modular subscriptions could reduce churn by allowing users to pay only for the content they actually watch. Similar models are already offered by DirecTV, Fubo and Sling TV, but YouTube TV's entry signals a shift in the market toward more flexible subscriptions.
