Corsair among the first to use Chinese RAM
Within Corsair's Vengeance memory line, experts recently spotted for the first time memory modules that don't include chips from established manufacturers like Hynix, Micron, or Samsung. Instead, the company has used memory chips from a Chinese manufacturer. CXMTThis discovery was first highlighted by a user with the nickname @wxnod on the social network X (formerly Twitter), and his findings were later reported by specialized technology media, including Tom's Hardware.
The new Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory kit features RGB lighting and is labeled CMK5X16G3E60C36A2-CN. The CN suffix indicates an initial exclusivity for the Chinese market. However, the presence of the UKCA and CE markings also indicates a possible expansion of sales to the European Union and United Kingdom markets.
While this move may not have a significant impact on current memory prices in the short term, it represents an extremely interesting shift in the entire supply chain in the long term. The fact that major brands like Corsair are now willing to work with CXMT proves that Chinese system memory can reach high speeds of up to 6000 MT/s. These speeds are fully compatible with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP technologies, significantly increasing the potential for greater exports of Chinese memory in the future.
This is also a great sign for the Chinese domestic market. If the local industry can meet its own huge demand for semiconductors and memory chips, it will reduce its dependence on the big three manufacturers. Lower global demand would thus relieve the burden on the entire market.
