Have you seen Trump's phone?
The Trump family is venturing into the world of telecommunications with the launch of a new mobile network called Trump Mobile and a smartphone T1, which they claim will be made in the USA.
Trump Mobile will offer a single plan called the “47 Plan” for $47.45 per month. It claims to offer the same coverage as the three major U.S. carriers. The plan will work with existing phones, and there will also be a gold-plated T1 phone for $499.
“A sleek, gold-plated smartphone designed for performance and proudly made in the United States,” Trump Mobile describes the phone. US customers can pre-order the phone with a $100 deposit, and it is expected to be available in August or September 2025.
Details about the T1 are pretty vague. The teaser page features an image that looks like a photomontage — it shows a gold-plated phone with a “T1” logo and an American flag on the back. The triple-camera setup is reminiscent of the newer iPhone Pro models, but the lenses are arranged in an odd way, and there’s no flash in sight.
The page contains numerous errors, including a completely blank description of the processor, RAM being labeled as storage, and the device boasting of "5000 mAh long-lasting camera", which probably means battery.
The website's terms of service state that the network is operated by Liberty Mobile, which is based on the T-Mobile network and has a "patriotic" theme. Package 47 includes:
- unlimited calls, SMS and data transfer,
- roadside assistance (Drive America),
- 24/7 access to telehealth services.
