Spotify introduces “Snooze” feature
Spotify is testing a new feature for Premium users that will allow you to temporarily exclude a specific song from recommendations. If you're tired of listening to the same song but don't want to remove it forever, the new "Snooze" feature will be a handy solution. The song will be excluded from recommendations for 30 days.
Spotify is also revamping its “Hide” button, which will now sync across all devices. So if you remove a song from a playlist on your phone, it will also be removed from your computer, tablet, or other devices connected to your account.
It also revamps the queue UI (for Premium users). The new design includes buttons for shuffle, smart shuffle, repeat, and a sleep timer. Plus, after your selected songs in the queue have finished, you'll see recommended songs tailored to your taste.
Managing playlists on mobile devices will now be easier, with buttons for adding, sorting, and editing placed at the top of each list. In some countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa), users have also already gained the ability to quickly turn their favorite songs into a separate playlist.
A new “Create” icon has also been added to the bottom right corner of the app, allowing you to quickly create new lists and join shared playlists. Premium subscribers can also use the feature to listen to music in groups and create UI-generated playlists.
Spotify hasn't forgotten about desktop users. It's now possible to preview songs from playlists, albums, or artist pages, similar to what's been possible on mobile for a long time.
