A smartwatch with Polar technology for less than 100 euros

Motorola has introduced the new Moto Watch 2 Fit smartwatch from the Moto Things series, which for €99.90 brings algorithms from the renowned Finnish manufacturer Polar. The device impresses with a 4.7-centimeter (1.85-inch) gOLED display and a powerful battery that allows for up to 12 days of use on a single charge.

With the new moto watch 2 fit, Motorola wants to offer a comprehensive experience in monitoring physical activity for both beginners and more experienced athletes. The main advantage of the novelty is the integration of ten tools from Polar. Among them are the Running Index for assessing running efficiency, Nightly Recharge for analyzing regeneration, and Sleep Plus Stages for detailed insight into sleep stages. The question remains, however, how accurately these algorithms will perform on hardware in this price range compared to Polar watches.

The watch itself offers automatic recognition of over 100 types of exercise and dual-frequency GPS (L1/L5) for more accurate route tracking. Motorola has also added heart rate, blood oxygen level (SpO2) and stress measurement, as well as menstrual cycle monitoring. The manufacturer clearly warns that this is a fitness accessory and not a medical device.

The gOLED display with a resolution of 390 x 450 pixels reaches a brightness of up to 1,500 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The rectangular aluminum case measures 42.88 x 38.65 x 9.95 mm and weighs only 28.1 grams. The watch boasts IP68 protection and 5 ATM water resistance, which is sufficient for swimming in a pool, but not suitable for diving or use in hot water. It is also worth noting that the RTOS operating system allows for long-lasting battery life with a capacity of 400 mAh, but at the same time limits the installation of external applications in the way that Wear OS allows.

The new model will be available for €99.90. Customers will be able to choose from a variety of PANTONE color shades and standard 20mm straps.
