Fans of premium audio have a new reason to rejoice. FiiO is expanding its hardware offering with the M33 R2R, which fills the gap under the flagship M27. Instead of standard DAC chips, the device uses a classic high-precision resistor network, which, according to audiophiles, creates a more vibrant, coherent and natural sound image that comes very close to warm analog sound.

The core of the new M33 player is a fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor network. To make the sound not only pleasant, but also powerful enough, FiiO has installed a multi-stage amplifier from TI. It develops up to 1100 mW of power per channel, which is enough for both sensitive earphones and demanding over-ear models. The smooth operation of the Android 13 operating system and streaming applications is ensured by the Snapdragon 680 processor in combination with 8 GB of RAM.

The device offers 128 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card. The XMOS XU316 chip and the advanced DAPS system ensure that noise and distortion are kept to a minimum. The front is dominated by a 13.97-centimeter (5.5-inch) HD display. For those who enjoy customizing the sound, there is a parametric 10-band equalizer with Auto EQ support, which allows for precise calibration according to specific headphones.

The battery provides up to 14 hours of autonomy, which is quite suitable for everyday use. The FiiO M33 R2R will be available on the market in the first quarter of 2026. Its price is estimated at around 560 euros, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a genuine R2R experience without spending four figures. As an additional treat, FiiO will also release the Retro Box during the same period. This is a special speaker that, when combined with the M33, displays a digital cassette on the screen, which will surely delight all nostalgic music enthusiasts.
